Thursday is now one of my new favorite bands! I had the best time last night.
I went to the private acoustic studio session before the show. There was about 50 kids there, it was held in a music shop down in Kentucky. Before the band showed up I talked to one of the radio guys. He asked if I was going to the show after the set and I told him I didn't know because I didn't have a ticket. He said he was going to give away five tickets, so to be sure I put my name in the box for the drawing. Well sure enough, my name was the last one he drew. I think he did it on pupose...
Then Thursday came and played 3 incredible songs. After the set they just sat around and signed autographs. They were all so nice, they asked me what my name was and thanked me for my support. I couldn't get over how sweet they all were.
After I had my CD signed by everyone, I headed up to the show. I went to the box office to redeem my ticket voucher only to find that I had actually won a pair of tickets. I gave my extra ticket to a punk rock kid I saw sitting outside. It was so cute, he gave me a big hug and told me he loved me.
The show was so fucking rad. They opening bands were Christiansen and Murder by Death. I was really impressed by both bands and I am now on a mission to track down a Christiansen CD. Then Thursday came on and just blew me away. They played beautiful, chaotic music with a passion that I haven't seen in a long time. Amazing.
I ran in to the radio guy at the show and he confirmed that he pulled my name on purpose. I love that guy!
After the show, I ran into the lead singer of Christiansen outside. He was handing out demo CD's so I stopped to tell him how rad his band was. He was really nice as well. It just seemed like everyone I talked to the whole night was so sweet, I couldn't believe it. I am still all wound up.
Hope I didn't get to boring describing my night. I have to go to work now.

I had to edit this because I listened to the Christainsen demo CD all day at work and oh yeah, another new favorite band. I ordered the full length off revHQ.com before the second song was over.
