Thanks for the thyroid advice. The condition showed up sometime in between February and July. I will be getting a freet3 and freet4 screening later this week. I will have to ask my endocrinologist about an MRI, but really, that's not a bad idea at all since there is a higher than average incidence of thyroid cancer in the city where I work.

Too true - as long as there's even the slightest hope that the Republicans will push their social agenda, these folks will keep coming back like the lemmings they are. 
But I'm hopeful that at least enough of the relatively sane voters are starting to get fed up with their bullshit to make a difference in the next election. Of course, I said that last time around, too, and...well, we won't go there.
