overtime work has keeping me busy lately... I don't get paid for overtime (some rule about my title being too high, my agency has rules for people with higher titles so me and most of my co-workers don't get paid for overtime unless it is an emergency) but I do get time off for the hours I put in after work ... suck working for a public agency but at least I feel like I'm making a difference for the public ... but maybe it is time for me to get back to be a corporate cronie ...

Also, I seen to have developed an lip irritiation due to the cream I was using to clear some breakout .. so my dermatologist gave a non-cortisoid anti-inflammatory cream to get my lips to start healing ... it is hard for me not to be able to smile , not that i smiled a lot to begin with ...

I heard that remark by Barbara "the Battleaxe" Bush, and Marie Antoinette was the first thing that popped into my mind. Yeah, I think Bush has already got his friends at Halliburton roaming around there, and they've got mercenaries from Blackwell doing the stuff that the national guard is supposed to be (for twice the cost, naturally). Assholes...

I vote for the mohawk. Of course, you should also let your beard grow out and get it cut Mr. T-style. I pity the fool that tells you otherwise!

I guess that's better than what I usually see when I'm riding the bus/train, like a crazy homeless person screaming at noone in particular, or sharing their stories about the impending apocalypse. One day I had a really interesting conversation with a few members of the Nation of Islam about how the white race was destroying the earth. Being white, of course, I enjoyed the conversation a little less than they did...

Thanks for the thyroid advice. The condition showed up sometime in between February and July. I will be getting a freet3 and freet4 screening later this week. I will have to ask my endocrinologist about an MRI, but really, that's not a bad idea at all since there is a higher than average incidence of thyroid cancer in the city where I work.

Too true - as long as there's even the slightest hope that the Republicans will push their social agenda, these folks will keep coming back like the lemmings they are. But I'm hopeful that at least enough of the relatively sane voters are starting to get fed up with their bullshit to make a difference in the next election. Of course, I said that last time around, too, and...well, we won't go there.
