Today sucked a bit. Ok, not just a bit. A lot.
I got to work at 10:30 and the computers weren't working. Thats right. I couldn't sell fucking tickets for the movies. So for about the first half an hour (all childrens shows) I was using old-fashioned tickets and a sheet of paper. Finally we got that working. The day went pretty smoothly, even if it was fucking long as hell. Then, my drawer was short. Like really short. So that was stressful
When I got home, I found out that we put our cat to sleep. I was kind of expecting it since she had stopped eating about a week ago, but its still really tough. I don't know. I put mine, Tiger, down a year ago and its hard. I still miss her a lot. And now my sisters cat, Zebra, is gone. Tough. But hey, they had really long lives and thats all that counts. They were happy.
More on Chicago now. When I first got there, my sister was stuck with managerial duties at Victoria's Secret so I ended up hanging out with my friend Alyssa for the whole first day. That was a blast. We went to Quimbys, this comic/book/porn store and I had to exercise extreme self control not to blow all my money right there. Then out to lunch at a neat little place called ZK foods. Find it if you're in the Chicago area. It has vegan and regular soups, salads and sandwiches. Pretty nice. Then hung around her place with her roomies and cats. She has a 22 pounder named Yeti. Then Rotofugi and off to my sisters for a party. I have discovered my favorite beer in Dead Guy Ale. I love it.
Then on Saturday, Kathleen and I went to the aquarium. That was so much fun. Getting to see the baby Beluga was neat and for the first time, I saw the Green Moray out of his little hole in the reef. He actually came out and swam around for a while. Really cool. The high point though was definitely the lizard exhibit. And Faust was the high point of that. 120 lb Komdo Dragon. So cool. I wanted to steal him.
Thats all for now I guess. RIP Zebra.
Leave some love.
Visit me.
