They're not just animals - but I'll still eat meat. I don't however agree with how they're processed. And hunting for trophy heads is not what i support either. Sort of a catch 22 - we've progressed enough where we can get fat and lazy because all we have to do is walk to the friggin grocery store - but how we've gotten here is a travesty for sure.
200 years ago a Vegan lifestyle was not an option - you couldn't grow or consume enough fruits and vegetables and nuts to sustain a 16 hour work day - where do we draw the line? How can we rectify the wrongs of 200 years of evolution?
almost every image that you have shown depicts acts which are no longer practiced, or illegal in definitely Australia and i suspect the US as well. I know Australia does not import animal products where animals are not treated humanly.
Some of those images depict Animal welfare groups "best practice" standard for animal processing to ensure humane treatment and minimal suffering.
I only get organic, freerange meat anyway, and eggs, and i can't say i drink milk.
I have more trouble eating vegetables and grain products knowing what damage has been done to the world's environment by European farming techniques.
Forest clearcutting, soil de-nutrification, displacement of native peoples, irrigating / fertilizing has destroyed natural waterways and ecosystems.
but we are all bound by our convictions
oh yeah, i do honestly hate to see animals suffering. here is a picture of my dog who has been spoiled every day of his life
