Ever put a roll of film in your camera, take a picture on every possible frame of it, take it out and put it down, and totally forget about it?

Then find it a year later, or two years later or ten years later, and get it developed?

By the time you get it developed, you've totally forgotten what you took pictures of. And when you look at them, you're suddenly caught in a screaming whirlpool of memories and nostalgia dragging you back in time.

I took a trip back to 2000 today. I have a bunch of film I haven't had the cash to develop just kind of sitting in a drawer. I finally got a few of them developed, and suddenly, I was back in Florida, with an ex-girlfriend and a bunch of friends at a party, at the beach, at another party, getting drunk, and stoned, or just hanging out...

It was bizarre. Most of these people I don't talk to anymore. Most of these people I will never see again in my life. But they are indelibly scratched into my brain with a dull pen. I'll never get away from them, I'll never get closer to them.
