Well, there it is. With the stroke of 4 pens I have been deemed worthy of earning PhD. Its been a long time coming and I can't help but feel a little depressed by the whole process. I supposed I should be happy, but to be honest I'm just glad its over at this point. It will probably be several weeks before I can look back on this whole sorted affair with any sort of objectivity.

But at least for the time being I'll enjoy the novelty of insisting that everyone call me doctor. biggrin I'm still waiting for them to teach me the secret handshake though. tongue


I still not sure whether I'm going to get to catch Desmond Dekker in Chicago this weekend but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. That would really cap off quite an incredible week for me so I hope everything comes together A-Team style.

UPDATE: I most definitely am! smile I shall have a full report upon my return.

UPDATE UPDATE: The show was definitely a good time. My old school ska list is now complete and I can die happy. smile I wrote a brief review that you can find over in the ska group if you are so inclined.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Yeah, I've never been to a Ska show where the crowd was lousy. It makes me a little sad inside to hear of it. Sure, some have been a little too crowded to dance as freely as one would like, but nobody was jerky about it.

I've never really been into getting punched, even when I was young and angry. I usually stayed out of the heart of the "pit".
