My rant for today... since something has to take my mind off of everything.

Have you ever seen a 'model' picture so hideously hopeless that it made you choke on a mouthful of strawberry yogurt smoothie? I did. Just this morning.
And it put me in a somewhat better mood because it's someone that I have no respect for and deserves all of the jeering that we, as a species, can dish out.
I have no problem with someone wanting the self esteem and outside attention that comes with modeling. Hell, I am a true attention-hound. I love it. I love having hair and makeup stylists fretting over me. I love having the photographer commenting on how great of a shot he just took because I had my eyes downcast or my hand a certain way. I love how Duke can never wait to see a new picture of me, because he tells me that I'm the most beautiful girl in the world (although my ego does have limits and yes, I know that I am not).
But if you don't know how to hold yourself in front of a camera... or you don't have the right equipment... you're just wasting your time and giving everyone else an eyesore of a picture.
Please don't post 'modeling' pictures with crappy lighting, ugly poses, and horrid hair and makeup.
Hair and makeup can make or break a photo... blotchy skin, little flyaway hairs... Cameras pick up every blemish, unless you know how to hide or cover them.
Lighting is even more important, in my book. Good lighting can do so many things for a shot. Hell... put a gold toned reflector on the flashes and viola'! Instant tan! Good lighting also means no weird shadows that make you look deformed. Shadows should accent and compliment the body, not shade your face completely so that your pasty white ass glows all bright and shiny for the camera..
Hell... look at the SG sets. Do they have nasty hair and gooped on makeup? No. Look on any modeling website. Do those girls hide in shadows or stand in awkward positions? Not normally... and if they are, it looks fucking good and they appear comfortable!
I know that I'm being crabby, but I really grow tired of all of these lackluster heiffers calling their snapshots from home, sprawled on the sofa or draping a sheet on the furniture as a backdrop, 'modeling' pictures.
Yes, I'm being a twat by saying this, but either leave this to the professionals, or get a real photographer and let them handle the technicalities, eh?
Moo.
