Thanks for the advice y'all gave concerning visiting my bio dad... With that, and the fact he called me tonight, I think I will make an effort to go see him. Not sure when. Depends greatly on the outcome of his tests. There might not be much time.
We had a good conversation. He knows he should have done things differently. Didn't offer excuses, but I do kind of understand. Better late than never, I suppose. I do feel better about the situation.
