some parts of the new deftones album were mellow, but in that cool way. they learned how to play even more in the groove, and that establishes kind of that heavy undertone that stef always has. if you listen to it while stoned it's awesome cos you can almost feel yourself sliding inbetween his notes.
i was supposed to see them on the summer sanitarium last august, and we got there too late to see the 2 bands i actually wanted to see... the only full set i saw was limp bizkits cos i was too sick to stay through metallica's... worst. day. ever.
i met daryl from GJ once, he was so hilarious, and by far one of the greateset front men i've ever seen.

i actually had just gotten strep throat a couple days before the show and i didn't even know what was wrong with me... i would never have walked out on metallica 10 years ago i tell you that.
but yeah, give the self titled deftones album a few more spins, with or without pot. i can't guarantee you'll have the same experience i have with it, but i love the album, i actually think it's a perfect mix of around the fur and white pony, especially "good morning beautiful." and "when girls telephone boys." those songs are my jams.

A friend and I used to like to go to Red Lobster and ordering a Lobsterita. We'd then take the Lobster bead necklace that comes with it, wear them to the club, and try to recruit virgins to sacrifice for our pagan Eskimo lobster god of fertility. Scary part? It worked, although I'm pretty sure those girls weren't virgins. Good times.

Ugh...I was trying to take some pictures just now and the batteries in my camera died. 
So after about 10 minutes looking in all the places I could think of, I am still battery-less.

And how cool is that?!?!?! See, the thing about band photography is that you have to be REALLY close to get good pictures. Otherwise either they are too small or too dark or both. I like that onew though, it's a cool shot!
