On Thursday, January 18, 2007, a terrible fire ripped through my grandfather's house in Abingdon, Maryland. My grandfather, grandmother, and three young cousins of mine were all inside of the house. None of them survived. It was said that my grandfather was found on the first floor, and was alive, and told the firefighters that there were still people inside of the house. Jerome Shropshire, or "Granddaddy" as I would call him was rushed from the scene and died en route to the hospital. Annette Shropshire, my grandmother was on the second floor and had already succumbed to smoke inhalation and died before anyone could find her. The devastating blaze also took the lives of 3 children........Donald White, 4.......Derek White, 3.......and an 8 month old, Jhaniyah Davis.

Our family is deeply saddened by this loss, especially that of three beautiful children. I don't really have much else to say, but if you read this, please pray for my family.
