So the Army finally figured out that theycan't make me go to a psychologist, so instead they made me take Army courses in how to be a "tramatic experience and grief counselor." Which means that now I am not only the cute guy who listens, but I now know how to help people cope. A.K.A. I'm automatically gonna be deep in the friend zone with every girl I meet.

Now that they made me take these courses my boss wants me to the counselor for the guys that are going through the school here and help them deal with the stress. hahaha. Come on, I'm the one person on staff who should not be talking to kids when they are "stressing out." Some guy comes up to me crying about how he can't handle the stress of his upcoming test I'm not going to listen to him sniffle, I'm gonna tell him to shut up and deal with it. I grew up in a family of old school men who taught me to bottle it up or talk to friends, not some stranger. I mean come on I dealt with two friends dying in my arms and the continues stress of being shot at for 15 months straight, but I have to help kids deal with little shit? Don't get me wrong, I'll listen and help if it's something genuine like a parent died, the person you love left you, your depressed, or you feel like hurting yourself; but when it comes to stupid shit like tests and grades, I don't think I can take that shit serious.

That's completely true, but what I was trying to say was that there is now a generation that can't deal with day-to-day personal stress. The Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma has a study that states, "Trauma is a sudden event that dramatically explodes into our daily life and changes the way in which we perceive the world. A traumatic event is often life threatening. Examples of traumatic events include terror attacks, the illness of a close family member, or a motor vehicle accident. In contrast, stress is a reaction to less dramatic and often daily events such that are perceived as threatening such as a job interview, deadlines, or worries related to the security situation."
You are correct in saying that I shouldn't compare my experiences with those of these kids, I keep calling them kids but they are all 18 or 19, because they are two separate things.
I'm not sure if it is the "Kinder Gentler" ideology that the Army has adopted or the basic fundamentals of child raising in the US have completely changed, these kids don't have the basic level coping skills that people our age have, and our levels are much lower than those of our parents and grandparents.

Haha yeahhhh I'm pretty sure this was set up though and he totally knew what he was getting into...
And it was nowhere near as fast as the car in the accident tongue
