when one is happy or content the holiday season is just grand. if one is depressed, with concerns over money, things are not going well at home, and one has not achieved the things/ situations in his or her life that one has worked very hard for then the holidays just augments the things harping at your soul.

I wish there could be an "opt out" button on the holidays. Or an arrangement where it happens every other year. Even if I could make that agreement with my friends and family, I would still get holiday music blasted at me, holiday movies advertised, holiday shopping glitter everywhere.
