So we havent lost yet but I a suspect that Kerry will lose and we as a country will lose... and I blame you. Maybe I am bitter but maybe I have a right to be... I signed up a bunch of volunteers to work for the Kerry campaign today. And you know what I heard all day today... excuses... my throat hurt... I am sick.... I am just not coming... I dont answer my phone... 3 of those people who said they were going to help out but never showed up are members on this site so in my bitterness I am listing them here.

I know you all had excuses and maybe the temporary relief of not putting in a few hours of work that in all honesty inset that fun was worth it to you... but you have committed our country to 4 more years of bush.. so really you fucked yourself. I hope you can sleep tonight knowing you had a chance to make a difference but just couldnt work up the effort to get off your asses and do something.
Today I arranged a ride for a girl that didnt have a car. I helped several voters who wouldnt have otherwise been able to cast a ballet vote. And I got several people who have never voted before to the polls. All in ONE day of work.. just one. A few hours (ok in my case 16 hours) of work. All in all I figure my contribution to the Kerry vote at 5+ votes. Now times that by the hundreds of thousands of volunteers that just never bothered to show up and there is the election.
No campaing can operate under these conditions. Imagine a company where no one showed up to work.. how long would they be in buessines?
Maybe its a problem with democrats.. we are whimps.. a sniffle or a bloody nose and we pack up and call it a day... the republicans will fight to the death. Rain or shine the pro-lifes will be knocking on doors, snow or hail and the bible thumpers will be going door to door getting out votes.. but if there is a cloud in the sky or a sniffle in our noses we pack it up and go home to our 500 channel TVs and climate controlled houses. After all someone else will pick up the slack... surely other volunteers will show up... ill just site this one out... well you know what everyone sat this one out and we all lost.
