i love taking my children to outdoor events. we went to a drum circle around a fire tonight. it's great to see how they react to a tribal environment. of course destiny feels at home, and starts hitting up the people on stage with balance sticks. spends about a half hour engaged in trying to learn. this was a new environment for rachel...she wasn't sure what to think. clung to me for the first half hour while watching everything with huge eyes.

rachel had to go potty, and all they had was an outhouse with no lighting. she freaked out! there was a bit of light coming up through the whole, and i think she thought the monsters were going to eat her butt. so instead, she just peed on a hillside. kept telling me about the scary potty with monsters.

the biggest thing i love about tribal situations, is that having kids is so much easier...it feels more natural. the kids run around in glee. they are watched by everyone. they can explore and learn while they play.

it was funny to see all the yuppies re-living their hippie years...and all the young hip teenagers who thought they were in MJQ.
the stars were especially bright tonight.
i always feel at peace after a trip to the land trust.
