We did our first body butter tests today.
It went pretty well, but not exactly what I wanted. But it was a good first experiment. I think in the future I may use deodorized cocoa butter, and I may get an additive to help with absorption. I'm also working on getting a feeling for when to whip the butter, I think I whipped a few minutes too soon, then put it back in the freezer and when I went to whip it a second time it was already setting. I had to break it up and mash it into the containers. All in all, though, it went pretty well. I don't have a product I want to sell yet, or even one I want to give out as gifts, but it's a good start.
I've taken about 2 weeks off work at this point. I'm going to need to start working again soon as I need money to get bills paid and to keep getting new things to keep up with my experimenting to be able to get a product I want to use, gift and sell.
Other things going on
I also bought a few more things that I need to be able to make my daughter's gowns for the wedding on Halloween (some of our friends are getting married). I bought the rest of the cloth for it as well as the zippers, the hook and eyes and a couple other things. Once I have this, I'll just need the brown thread to be able to start making them.
