Ok. We just got off the phone with a lender... YAY He didn't laugh in our faces! It's a good start!
We have to do a few things to clean up our credit, which shouldn't be too bad, and we need to get some money saved. He said we'd need to get 3-4% saved for down payment and 3-4% for closing costs, though the closing costs might be able to be negotiated with the seller.
So, we need to find a way to get $5000-10000 saved up. Those numbers seem so big right now, though. So, looks like we're going back to shopping at save-a-lot, and get to smoke the cheapest tobacco possible (without being the GROSS stuff).
But one step at a time... My credit stuff is easy to clear up, and I don't think Alan's will be that difficult either.
I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the idea of how we can get that money together. Obviously, we need to "save it", but I'm trying to think of ways I/we can make extra money so we can get in in a reasonable amount of time. I can't stand living here anymore, we're talking about 6 months as a maximum. But this summer would be better.
Every way I break it down, it just seems too big. Hubby's talking about borrowing some money to be able to do it, but as it would increase our monthly expenses once in the house, I know that's not the best idea, though seems the most likely one to get it for us in a reasonable time. If each of us, there are 3, could save $200 a week for the next 4 months, we would have it. Only problem is that one of us is working full time, one is waiting to get in with a company, and one can't work a "regular job". (I'm the 3rd if you're wondering, I have severe anxiety issues that keep me from being able to work).
*Think, think, think*
But it looks like I'm going to be trying to work on cam as much as I can, I might start playing strip poker again too, (at www.stripgameslive.com). And if I get a set accepted here, that money will go towards it too.
I'm so happy and stressed I could cry. I really want this...
