I'm considering a serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor to treat my fibromyalgia. I don't like psychiatric meds, but I can't go on like this and I have TRULY tried EVERYTHING else. Nobody has exhibited more discipline and will power than I have with diet and exercise. I quit drinking, I eat no sugar, sweetener, vinegars, nothing fermented, no gluten, no yeast... my diet is so restricted and my lifestyle so regimented that I have become a complete hermit. I HATE GOING OUT... cause I can't drink and I can't eat anything. I am so fucking antisocial I don't even know myself anymore.

So... anyone who has taken one of these serotonin reuptake inhibitors... I would LOVE to hear your feedback. Side-effects, withdrawal... did you feel better? worse?

my upperarms are almost thinner than my forearms...

They've come a long way since Prozac was first put on the market over 20years ago and amongst the scores of people I've known to be taking SSRI's the side effects are really minimal. Some drowsiness for a few weeks and sexual problems that usually go away too (difficulty having an orgasm or lower libido). Since you've quit drinking anyway, that wouldn't be an issue but there can be weird interactions when mixed with alcohol.

This is a cool website for just the quick overview of a medication: Health Canada Drug List

I'd say give it a try with an open mind, it may take a few months for it to take full effect, but they can be very helpful. So why not?
