looking for opinions on the phenomenon known as "the drop by" myself, I would never dream of knocking on someone's door unless they knew I was coming. if I just happened to be in the neighbourhood... I think that the drop by all depends on how well you and that person know eachother. If you are in a relationship where you must be embroiled in conversation to feel comfortable, then a drop by isn't always warranted. I always have people dropping by my house, but I never feel the need to entertain them-- they just come over and sit around and do their own thing if I'm busy. If droppers by can entertain themselves, then I think that it is acceptable. They're more like out-of-the-house roommates

I don't know about "drop by", ppl don't do it here although they do wait for Christmas and wait for you to go to sleep and wake you up with noise, singing and an awful ruckus at night in front of your house and on top of that they expect food from you! We call them Parrandas, i hate em!

btw thx for the advice, I was thinking about that, never tried it before, i'll see what happens!
