I dreamed that myself and 2 or 3 people I was with, but I don't know who they were, had something wrong with our knees. I think we were at some kind of hospital and had already undergone and healed from some kind of surgery. The last step was that they'd taken a tiny piece of bone from each of us, formed it into a quarter-inch diameter, flat-sided ring, and had to peg these onto the lower-fronts of each of our kneecaps. I, and I think all of us, were pretty shocked and scared, because this was going to be painful, to have this pounded into our knees. Not to mention weird to walk around forevermore with this ring on our knees. But whatever was wrong, we knew we had to complete the procedure or we were going to end up crippled.
The nurse they sent to pound these things onto us couldn't do it. I was trying to help her hold one of mine in the right position, but she was tapping it really lightly with some kind of mallet, only hard enough to knock it out of position, the peg falling over, not hard enough to pound it in. We were all relieved yet still scared, still knowing this absolutely had to be done, and it was going to hurt a lot, when the nurse said she couldn't do it and that she was going to go find our surgeon to come complete the procedure.
The dream changed before the doctor arrived, so I didn't actually have to experience the pain, whatever form it would have taken in the dream, of having this done. Thankfully.
This cold is still hanging around trying to get me. So far, the last couple of days I've woken up slightly congested, and with my throat full of crud, and scratchy. After being awake a few minutes, maybe half an hour, it's cleared up back to just being that my voice is half-gone right now. Which isn't too big a deal.
Both of these things make me thankful for my general state of physical soundness and good health, and determined to hang on to them! I know I mention/complain about random aches and pains here and there, but I really try to keep it light, and if I don't, I should reiterate that I regard these as minor concerns, minor discomforts.
So, I have a half-day at work, the afternoon to make a new ad for the store, my handgun class this evening, to work out tonight sometime. I am keeping this cold at bay, and getting into shape. It was a strange dream and I woke up really glad it was only a dream.
And, cool... I just had a CD order delivered. So, I have Gackt's newest to listen to today and at the gym tonight!
