Just got back from shooting. I "branched out" today and tried out their 1911 .45. That was fun!
I only shot 50 rounds, because we needed to get back to the house to be here for trick-or-treaters. But I did about half at 15 ft, half at 25 ft, and was almost as accurate at 25 as at 15. My groups weren't beautifully perfect or anything, but my worst shots were 2 out in the 7-ring, on these B3 targets.
Lots better than I used to be: more accurate, more consistent, with a larger gun, at a longer distance. I'm feeling good about my progress, wishing I were better and could do more, of course. I wish I could go shoot 50 rounds every day. Then I know I'd get better really fast. But the best I can do for now is try to get back to going every Monday instead of every other like the last couple of times.
Just call me gun-happy... shooting guns makes me happy!

That being said, I have *no* love for the 1911, no matter the caliber. Civilian models are much nicer than our milspec M9s, but it still never feels right in my hand. Maybe it's 'cause I grew up shooting Dad's Browning HiPower 9mm.
