I'm still kind of tired, despite again, a decent amount of sleep last night, but today was a good day. I got to sit in on two mastering sessions, very different from each other, plus a little editing session. And I'll probably get to sit in on two more sessions next week, with the chief engineer/owner/founder of the studio.
The more I find out about mastering, the more I want to get into doing it. I do miss the recording and mixing side, but hey, why couldn't I be like Matt, the engineer I'm primarily interning with, and still record/mix for bands sometimes? Even though this is an internship and not a paying job, I think I'm on the right track to being a working engineer again. I just have to keep going in the direction I'm started on! I'm feeling optimistic, and that's a great feeling, and I'm determined to make this happen, and I hope nothing changes to make me stop feeling this way.
