Vernal equinox--lovely first day of spring . . . which saw me driving to work through inexplicable snow! Apparently the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area has been tectonically displaced to North Dakota. Go figure.

Rain here in Gotham. A very Monday Monday, but just as well for returning to work. Why waste spring sunlight on mere Mondays?

We are now approximately 19 days into actual winter and approximately 72 days away from the opening hours of spring. Here in NYC we are at 40o 47' latitude and at this point in winter we saw mid 60s yesterday& today. last year on 7 January the temperature reached a record 72. Talk now of light snow on Monday. We shall see.
