I hope that despite all of this you did find some measure of contentment and happiness through Christmas. Christmas is always a difficult time of year = even the best of circumstances. We can put so much hope into it - that our expectations can exceed reality. Once again - take some time to do something special with the ones you love. Take pleasure in the small things that you can be grateful for. Slowly, you will heal. You are in my prayers - I do wish that you will find what you truly need.....

It does have a degree of truth; in that some of the people
that one would least expect it from, turn out to be the
crulest; even if unintentionally.
Forgive them and give them space to decide if your
being in their `landscape` is what they want. And as much as
it might hurt you for them to be gone. Simply breathe and be open
to those who are there for you.

It aways feels like there's that certain something that's just out of grasp, no matter what. I know that feeling quite well. But I still keep reaching for it; it's just not in my nature to quit.

when your team needs 4 things to happen to make the playoffs and you can only control 1 of them (win the all remaining games), I pretty much rule my team out of the playoffs... can you imagine if we went 10-6 and no playoffs????

I'm glad it was a good visit. Things will be better. It won't get easier - but over time it should get better.
I know it's hard to not dwell in the memories of a better time. But you have a lot of time left to make new memories. And at some point they will be as sweet as the old ones....

Glad you got to spend time with at least one of your daughters. With the economy all topsy turvy I imagine it will be a different sort of holiday season for many here, but also a time to pull together.

I got my tree up already. Maybe there won't be so much under it this time, but no matter. For some reason, I'm feeling particularly festive and optimistic that this year will be spent focusing on the important things.

I hope you achieve that "peace of mind" you seek. As for me, I'm still here... alive and kicking.

I hope that despite some of the circumstances that you have a lovely holiday too. As for me, the house is clean and pretty. I got the last fresh Butterball in the store today. Felt kind of guilty when seconds after I picked it up and walked away I heard a lady asking one of the clerks if they had anymore fresh Butterballs. I have all the fixings and my plan is to get up really early make the meal and then make the 180 mile drive to my parents and surprise them. I had called them last weekend to give them the disappointing news that I had so much work stuff pending that I didn't think I could make it....which was true, but I got more handled than expected and what the hell....it's Thanksgiving, right?

I really hope next we can finally meet up. Today I finally for MRI follow-up at 3:30; had to push the appt back. They put like 8 shots of lidocaine/muscle relaxants in my shoulders and neck. And I have to go to PT 3x a week.

I have an appointment with a recruiter Monday morning. Reallly good friend of my good friend here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just need a job right now to start paying some of my medical bills down before they get really bad.

i mean, 99% of the people i've interacted with via this site have been amazing. it's just that 1% that ruins it for me.

i spoke with her today, while she was on her way to work. from what i gather, she's been working a lot and has been very busy.
