No news yet regarding the census taker test. I'll post something when I know more.
Hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. Mine was about what I expected. I was happy to have someone to spend the day with. Mae-Ann and I went out to dinner. We came back to my place, talked, listened to music and made love. I wasn't sure I'd be up...

Luckily, I have medical coverage through the VA. Free medical care for life for myself I suppose is a good thing for being a disabled vet
Tomorrow morning is a trip to the dermatologist to get stabbed and biopsied
I took the test for census taker yesterday. Some of the questions were difficult, but I think I did pretty well. I'll get the results in a few weeks. Hiring will be based on test scores as well as other factors on the application. I'm not going to worry about it since I did my best and it's out of my hands now.

The U.S. Census bureau is starting to hire people as census takers. I signed up to take the written test next Saturday morning. I figure that I'll probably do very well on the test. The only problem is that they list owning a vehicle as an important aspect of the job. They mention that it's possible to be hired without a car and being allowed...

I don't think it would matter that you don't have a car if you live in New York. Good luck with the job!!
....I have been considering talking to a doctor about medications for depression but I'm the daughter of a hypnotherapist so I've never taken hardcore meds before. I'm kinda scared. I've never even smoked a cigarette in my life.

3-4 weeks?? That's a long time to be on ice. I hate waiting, don't you?
I'm feeling much better the last few days. I was really down when I posted my previous blog.
First of all, a special thanks to Fishii and Lizabeth. They called me last Sunday evening. Being able to speak with them made a huge difference in my mood and outlook. I also want to thank all of my other friends who commented on my previous...

Glad to hear things are looking better for you. I know how hard it is to keep a positive attitude sometimes but I think it's great that you have so many people here giving you support and encouragement.

Who could ever forget him in that role, eh? I cannot see him without laughing a little, even when he is being entirely serious or silent. Her just has that way about him.
Hope things are improving little by little in your life.

I've been on the prescribed medication for over a week now. The dosage was increased the other day, according to plan. It's been explained to me that it takes a month or so to feel the full effect of this anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication.
I don't really understand much of this. I'm feeling like shit today, probably because I'm thinking too much. All I can...

Maybe one day I will meet a woman and not play out scenarios in my head ... the ones that scare me away. Until then I will have to be content with being single.

I cant even TELL you how happy that makes me!!!
I look forward to speaking with you tomorrow!!!!

I had a long conversation with Mae-Ann and a couple of close friends last night. The obvious conclusion was that in order to have any chance at making things better was to find a way to alleviate my depression. I went for an intake at the mental health section of a prestigious local hospital today. The result was that I was prescribed an antidepressant and...

i guess making a deal like the Sox did with Colon, shows us that the economy really is having an impact on MLB. i mean the low risk/high reward is geat and all, but I guess I was hoping for at least one "sexy name" as Kenny has put it, to be signed in the offseason...
i certainly will be confused about the desire to reach the post season if they get rid of Dye

I don't know how much more I can take. I'm practically destitute. I haven't paid my January rent, and don't see how I'll be able to. I swallowed my pride a while back when things started on a downward spiral and applied to Social Services. I began receiving some benefits, so I'm not starving to death and can still get my medication and have access...

Don't let your depression defeat you!
New York Foundation for Senior Citizens has a Senior Home Share program. They match up Seniors to share space.
You can either get matched to share with someone else - or receive funding to take in someone in your place.
http://www.nyfsc.org/services/index.html
Talk to them now - before you lose your current place.
And keep looking for a job. Truth is, it's never easy to find one - but if you stop looking that's a sure guarantee you won't find one.
It may seem hopeless right now - but that's only true if you let it be hopeless.
Take care of yourself!

First of all, I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
A lot has happened in my life this past year. I have been dwelling mostly on the bad stuff lately. Today, I thought I would just talk about the positive highlights of the past year for me.
The most significant thing that happened in my life was meeting Mae-Ann last March....

I got your text but was asleep by that point. How boring am I? Haha.
Happy new year to you too, love. You've had quite the 2008 and I hope for nothing but the best for you in the months to come.
You mean a lot to me. <3

happy New Year, love. And thanks for being there for me, you are a great friend.
I actually had a good day. My younger daughter, Heather, and I went to Mae-Ann's house about 1:30 in the afternoon to spend Christmas day. Mae-Ann made a ton of food. She made a roast with mashed potatoes and asparagus. She also made meat balls, pasta and her famous sauce. There were also a variety of desserts. Everything was delicious.

Hi. I have nothing new to say, but I am trying to catch up on friends blogs, and thought I would say hi, at least. I am still enjoying time off and an easy schedule (minus any wine. I do not think I ever want to drink wine again. Ugh.) Off to see my mom this coming Friday, then back to school after that week in Kentucky. Neo and I have had a nice time together overall, though, and it is nice, isnt it, when you get to spend peaceful time with someone you love.
