I had a great day Saturday. I spent it with a new friend that I had met at the social group that I recently joined. We went into Manhattan, had lunch and saw District 9. I recommend this movie very much. This was beyond your generic sci-fi offering.

After the movie, we walked around the city for a while, stopped for a soda and sat in the park and talked. We eventually had dinner and headed home. My friend treated me to lunch and the movie as my birthday present, which was very much appreciated. It was a very nice day overall.

I'm looking forward to gong to the Yankees - White Sox game on Friday with my daughter, Heather. We always enjoy going to a Yanks-Sox game together. It's kind of a special ocassion for us. She wears her Mark Buehrle T shirt and I wear my Mark Buehrle jersey. This year his jersey has special significance since he recently threw a perfect game. We always have a great time at the game.
