Mother's day is this coming Sunday. Thanks to the inspiration I've drawn from my friend Sherrillee, I've decided to post the following.

While the passing of my mom in 2003 at the ripe old age of 91was sad, I'm comforted that she lived a long and full life. What I wanted to use this occasion for is to pay tribute to another mom that will always be part of my heart, soul and spirit.

I'm talking about my wife, Annette. As most of my friends know, she passed away in September, 2005. I'm taking this occasion not to mourn her, but to honor and pay tribute to as perfect a wife and mother as any man could have wished for.

Thanks to her wisdom, patience and love, we were able to raise two beautiful daughters. It's no accident that they turned out as wonderful as they did. While I think I was a good father, I needed to be out there in the world earning a living and such. It was Annette who did the lion's share of the everyday raising and nurturing of our children. She did a Hell of a job with them. Her influence will help guide them forever.

As great a mom as she was, she was an equally amazing wife. While we had our ups and downs as any married couple do, she was the one who kept things together and made it possible for us to experience almost 32 years of wedded bliss.

Aside from Mother's Day, there are three other occasions that normally cause me great pain, namely her birthday, our wedding day, and the anniversary of her passing. This is not the case come this Mother's Day. Instead, this year I'm taking the opportunity to praise and honor this beautiful woman.

I'm posting this as a tribute and celebtration of her life, not as a mourning of her death. I also want to say how happy I am to be able to celebrate the life of my precious Annette with my wonderful friends on SG. Thanks to all of you for allowing both of us into your lives.

Wishing all of you a happy Mother's Day.

p.s. I recently posted a photo of Annette and I on our wedding day. To those of you who haven't seen it, I'd be honored if you would take a moment and view it.

What a lovely tribute of Annette - Now that's exactly what I was talking about!

You are a lucky man to hav expereinced that kind of relationship. But that doesn't mean that you won't find another equally as satisfying in a different way.

There's hope for you yet!

Keep the faith! kiss
