I've been reflecting on my SG experience the past day or two. I never would have known about this site or joined it if not for Lyrical posting her first set here in early February. I'm glad I joined. I've met quite a few terrific people and found several groups and topics that I'm interested in. In fact, I just adjusted my account so that my dues will be paid up for the next year.

I'm also feeling a sense of loss. Within the past month or so, three members who I've felt a special closeness to have left SG,. Friendships, regardless of the venue, are very precious to me. Although I'm making new friends all the time, the loss of established friendships are not easy to take. I want all of you to know how much I value your attentiveness and concern for me. I'm not the type of person who normally would be interacting in cyberspace, so this has been a new, and very positive, experience at age 60. In fact, the recent temporary loss of my internet access illustrated just how much I love being an SG member.
