I am going to order new skates soon.

HOORAY EXPENSIVE TRACK SKATES. Being a roller girl costs a lot of money sometimes. O_O It is worth it. I don't give a fuck. I'd much rather pay out the ass for some great skates and have a kick ass time hanging out with some bad ass girls than sit at home three hundred dollars richer watching TV. I can't wait until practice starts up again. I used to bitch and moan about how much of a time commitment practice was but I went to an open skate the other day and now I really miss it. I used to think derby girls were full of shit when they said things like "Roller Derby gets into your blood" and "once you get into it, it never goes away" but they are totally right. ROLLER DERBY IS LIKE HERPES YOU GUYS. Once you get the derby virus it is with you FOREVER. Awesome. You'll forgive me if I talk about derby a lot in my journal. My immediate family doesn't want to hear about it and I can only talk about it to devilducky for so many hours until he gets super bored and falls asleep.

I hope you are all having a good summer so far. I know it just started but it has been pretty hot here lately considering I am practically hanging out with Canadians. I started wearing skirts to work. The customers are much nicer to me when I'm wearing a skirt. I wonder why that is. Maybe my legs are just that hot?

Things are quiet around here. I am sculpting, re-reading Harry Potter, watching the Discovery Channel. I am addicted to NPR now. I am an even bigger nerd now than ever before if such a thing were possible. They are playing a really really great show right now called RadioLab - Minnesota Public Radio is playing it at 2:00 for the rest of the week. It is a really kick ass show if you are interested in documentaries and sciencey stuff. Really interesting. If you have the chance to catch it, definitely give it a shot. I started playing Pirates. Building tiny pirate ships is lots of fun.
