Can I break my lease due to my car being broken in to?
Devilducky and I are on a lease until August. We're in our second year of this lease. Both of us have now had our vehicles broken into. MY DS WAS STOLEN. I left it in my car by mistake last night AND OF COURSE IT IS THE NIGHT MY CAR GETS BROKEN INTO. Although I'm sure the presence of the DS was a contributing factor, my stereo was stolen, as well.
SO YES. This is the fourth time the garage has been broken into and a car damaged in as many months. Does anyone out there in SG land know anything about landlord/tenant laws? Can I get out of my lease because I no longer feel safe in my own apartment complex?
UPDATE: My renter's insurance has a $500 deductible so I am SOL as far as getting my DS replaced goes. I did the math and it looks like it's about $450 worth of merchandise. THIS IS A SAD DAY YOU GUYS.
I started crying to my insurance lady over the phone because I am such a nerd and was so sad about my car and my DS and about how NOW I AM GOING TO HAVE TO TOTALLY START OVER ON ANIMAL CROSSING MOTHERFUCKER.
This sucks.
