I just got back from seeing Goblet of Fire and it was the first movie I have ever seen alone. Best. Idea. Ever. I went to the very first showing of the day and there were only five people (including me) in the theatre. There were two older ladies who came in during the commercials, then a middle aged guy and his mom who showed up during the previews. That was it. Awesome. I got to see a Harry Potter movie and there wasn't a single child in sight. Plus, I got to take off my shoes. Score.
I decree that Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort is possibly one of the best casting moves ever made.
And how about Miranda Richardson as Rita Skeeter? Fuck. Yes.
People I know had been telling me that they heard GoF was not for children and I LAUGHED AT THEM because I think children are inherently dark and have more morbid sensibilities than most people - especially their parents - want to admit. But now I'm not so sure. There were parts of that movie that had me squirming in my seat.
Anyway, quite good, even though it felt a bit rushed.
