Ok, so after the second all nighter in a row I have just finished my last piece of coursework of the year. Just one more year to go!!
So, heres a new link to Replica, I handed the full track in yesterday. It ended up taking on an almost jazz-metal feel in the end (just listen to the bass sound) but is still true... Read More
So, today I did an exam for which I had approximately 45mins to prepare. All thanks to a stupid dispute between NATFHE and my uni. I think it went well, I'll just have to wait and see.
Now I've just got 3 assignments to finish and I'll be 2/3 the way through my degree!!
I might get out to a meet before my account expires,... Read More
My dream home would be a 17th/18th century house of the kind featured in 'Country Life' (one of those places commonly described as 'rambling') somewhere in the cotswolds. Would have to have a heated pool, tennis court & recording studio
On the 30th of June my account will expire, I no longer spend any time on this site and I see no reason to continue paying for a membership if I am not using it.
I'll be around until then though, popping by every so often.
Good show last night. I wasn't very conversational even by my standards All the bands were good.
I agree with what you said in reply to my comment about the opening band. It was perhaps harsh as I was comparing them to the other bands who had had time to polish off their own rough edges. They might be awesome when they have gained experience. I don't know if that was one of the band in question behind me when I said that but I knew as soon as I opened my mouth I should have checked.
I wouldn't want to mess with Liquid Sky's bassist.
Yeah, they were great. In general I have an antipathy towards hard rock bands with keyboards
but was easily able to disregard that 'aberration' in their case: class act indeed. Hope they make it big
I think I've read that somewhere before, but what an answer!
If only Geology asked questions that cool, though I do remember someone quoting something from the Simpsons for a question about Nuclear Power. Not at exactly the same level, but still enjoyable!
Just before I went back home to Manchester I started getting these bites all over my arms. At home they went away, back in London they came back.
I've now found the cause of this, bed bugs!! Fucking bed bugs!! Blood sucking pieces of shit, We now need to get the landlord to pay to get our fucking bedroom sorted out, and quick 'cos I'm... Read More
Eesh...that's well nasty. Mind you, one of my mates' flats at Uni had a scabies infection going round it one year so if it's any consolation it could be worse...

Thanks, will check it out. Basically I need to record answering messages for a phone system, but the Cisco that plays back the messages seems to amplify background noise massively so that even though it sounds fine on the desktop, it sounds rubbish when played back through the phone handset. I either need an impeccable recording, or failing that, remove all the background noise from the recording. *shrugs*
Today I just delivered my first mastered commercial CD to the artist. I have now officially earned money from 4yrs of training!! The artist has already booked me again for another CD in summer, which is very cool. Also, the artists has said he will recomend me to other artists, which may lead to some good money. This job pays 200 and it was... Read More
So the last journal entry was very "name-droppingly-fanboy" like, this one is probably even more self-indulgent but hey, it's my journal!!
My laptop is now fully stocked to the brim. I just put 1gb ram in it, though it still hasn't stopped me from accidentally deleteing my copy of the latest VNV Nation single which I paid for!!
Cheers for the comment mate. Funnily enough it's something so unbelievably insignificant that it's almost daft but it's somehow put the thing out of action for six months - basically one of the plastic caps on the tuning keys snapped (you know the little ring-shaped things that separate the keys from the head) and nowhere'll fix the bugger - it's all "oh, you should phone Stagg (the manufacturer) they'll sort it for you". Which'd be fine but they're based in Northampton and I live in Leeds!
Any advice you can give me'd be much appreciated - cheers man.
