Ok belated posting for yesterday
The day was pretty chill at work for the most part. frontline guys were jacked up with like 3 different outages, but from my point of view that kept things mild, since they were too busy with known problems to call me for help with something they didnt understand. I got to read through MONs conference call, and I gotta say I feel a lot better about the crop performance problem they ran into with one of their hybrids. They didnt dismiss the performance problem, but could explain it because of the low pest pressure, so their gene to repel those critters didnt make much difference. I'm strongly considering making a buy again, after I finish seeing how earnings season plays out. I've got some pretty good names already I have buy orders on deck for, but Mon could be a nice comeback play since its fallen so far. I still love geneticly engineered crops.
I also played hookey way too much and played Farm Story on my iPad pretty steady for the last few hours at work. Made some bank there though
and now I'm in the process of whoring myself around to try to find some neighbors so I can push my expansion. I've decided I wanna go for more of a garden layout, and will be trying to make designs with my crops with a nice mix of flowers thrown in. Hopefully if I make something a bit prettier it'll help me get some stickiness with my neighbor requests. Although I could prolly make some more money if I left larger tracts unplanted or did monoculture plantings so I could get some more cash flow. I've got a pretty nice base of fruit trees lining the north edge which should help with a recurring revenue stream I dont have to worry about watering.
Otherwise today is the big day when the plants come down and I get to start making more arrangements to prepare for next season. What I really should do is not play so damned much WoW and take the afternoon off and actually read my composting book I bought for my birthday a month ago. The weather is gonna be real damn shitty here pretty soon and if I'm gonna do any more work back there to over winter I need to get it done now..... but I think I'll still get some blowing shit up done on my mage today.
I also need to call Joyce, and feel things out with Tess a bit to see if she'll be available at all over the next couple days to get some time in with her. AND I need to get a run in at some point. I really really need to get as much running in as I can before winter kicks in and totally kills any ambitions for that. It should be a full day off for me.
