What Makes a Great SG or Hopeful Set?

I've been a member of SG since 2006. That's twelve years and thousands of sets which have passed by my eyeballs. With many of them, especially for Hopefuls, I often try to leave an encouraging comment. I've never once clicked the "Not for Me" button, though there have been a few which were nonetheless not for me.

I've considered these thousands. What's the difference between a good set and bad?

More than 95% of the time it's the photography. The photographer's skill in setup, lighting, lens, focus, angle, setting, preparation, and direction makes or breaks a set. A shoot with the most beautiful of women falls flat without great photography.

The other 5% is a mix of things. Most of it is attitude, which is why we see some girls trying their first Hopeful set, which maybe isn't so good, but they keep trying and their presence in the images gets better and better. Practice may not make perfect, but it makes someone hella more confident.

Only the tiniest sliver of sets ever make me say, "Oh, no no no. No. Just no." But then again, there's nothing objective about that reaction.

It only means those sets were, you guessed it—

Not for me.

What makes a great set for you?

Agreed! Definitely feel I have become more confident in every newest set that I do. Becomes a more natural thing :)
