I give my all to my income-earning work, blood and sweat and screaming and fighting and pushing to be the best, and to push everyone around me to be the best.
I give my all to my art, nationally recognized now, committed to every aspect of its craft, committed to excelling. Ah, if only the income followed.
I cannot keep this up forever.
Does anyone else wrestle with this? How do you balance these two drives? How do you break away from it, and commit to the art alone?
