Every techno-hippie who owns a PS2 should play Katamari Damacy. It's about LOVE and PEACE and how we are all together on this big ball! Plus, it has a lot of mushroom imagery, and you can play it while stoned!

And it's got hell of catchy music...

It's since changed my outlook on the world. The way you play the game is simple: you're a small green dude who pushes around a ball. As the ball hits things in the world, the things stick to it, if the ball is bigger. As things stick to it, the ball grows in size. As it gets bigger, you can stick more things to it. You start out on someone's table picking up stationary and pencils and stamps, and you end the game uprooting islands and office buildings and clouds and giant bridges and squid. There's a huge stretch in between when you're mowing down children and school functions and grandparents and dogs and elephants and crocodiles...it's great. smile

So now I see the world in terms of how big a ball I need to push around to stick it. I see a rack of bikes, my thoughts aren't "That is a stabling for a human conveyance," they are "If I had a katamari about YAY big, I could run over that pile of bikes and pick them all up!"

Yes, I played that instead of writing yesterday. What am I, a machine? I need to watch miniscule green men rolling large piles of stuff around, too!

Back to pumping out words...
