been on a ramen kick. looooovvvee the ramen! it is a way of life i tells yah!!!
I AM EXTATIC!!! i managed to stumble upon an original 1928 edition of my favourite poets work! one miss Dorothy Parker and the book i got was Sunset Gun, her second publication. i screamed upon picking it up, much to my mother's chagrin. we were in this awesome antique store that i had never thought to go into. i love old stuff, but for some reason i avoided the shop like the plague because i thought i'd spend too much money on old knives, photographs, or cameras. and here's the real kicker, the book was only $6.00!!
here's one of my favourites, from Sunset Gun:
Interior
Her mind lives in a quiet room,
A narrow room, and tall,
With pretty lamps to quench the gloom
And mottos on the wall.
There all the things are waxen neat
And set in decorous lines;
And there are posies, round and sweet,
And little, straightened vines.
Her mind lives tidily, apart
From cold and noise and pain,
And bolts the door against her heart,
Out wailing in the rain.
ok, enough geeking.
not much else to update, other than i'm going to be kitty-sitting for my mom at her house for the upcoming week. so there'll be no updates or chatting i'm afraid.
but at least i get to sit on my butt and watch the National Geographic channel (i don't get that channel at home...or any soon. tv is evil and distracts from school work so i'll be promptly cancelling it to concentrate on the semester ahead!)
taking 15.5 units this fall! eek! and one is a math class! pray for me my dearies!!
