oh dear gods. well, being that it's Beltane, i thought, hey i've been putting this whole "craft name" (or "magical name," which i hate cuz it sounds so cheesy) thing off for a long time, so i'll try to get it done. why put it off?
well, here's why. it has to work numerologically with my birthdate. this means it has to add up to 6. here's how it works:
my birthdate= 9+3+0+1+9+8+3 which equals 33. and 3+3=6.
so, using the following chart, i have to come up with a name that i like, and feel connected to, that adds up to six in the end.
1= A,J,S
2= B,K,T
3= C,L,U
4= D,M,V
5= E,N,W
6= F,O,X
7= G,P,Y
8= H,Q,Z
9= I,R
so if we have Raven, that's 9+1+4+5+5=24, which is 2+4=6.
so Raven works, but i'm not too sure about taking it as my craft name. i know i'm supposed to have a name by now. i've been a practicing witch for almost a decade now, and in training longer than that. i'm just fucking lazy. lol.
anyway, i want to try and find something that has ties to my celtic heritage, irish more specifically, and hopefully something that has to do with the sea/ocean cuz i loves her so and she is my home. there is one that works with my numerology and has to do with celtica and the sea. it's muirgen, which means "born of the sea" in gaelic. pronounced "m-yur-gan," which is close to morgan, which is kinda cool. it was also the name of a mermaid in celtic legend who was taken from the sea to be some dude's wife, which is cool. i tried Roane, which didn't work (off by one frickin' number!!!
), but i might do it anyway. i was also considering Morgaine, the main character in Mists of Avalon, whom i feel very connected to and seem to have much in common with. ie: an emotionally distant father, a selfish mother, and is the ugly duckling due to her being priestess born and of the dark-celtic heritage. she was born to suffer under the goddess' will, which seems to be my problem of late.
i have this duty to my current life, and yet long for another. i do not want to defy the laws of karma and honor, and yet i'm doing no justice to my heart by staying where i am. rock and a hard place. i await a strong sign from the goddess, and pray daily for it, as to what my true direction is to be and how to do it. but so far, only small tidbits float my way.
ah well, temperance, as i keep being told by the cards. ack. i was told that my true path and unique purpose in this life will be revealed to me very soon. Goddess i hope so!
enought ranting. this entry is way too frickin' long. sorry everyone. but for those of you who endured to the end, my thanks and give yourself a nice pat on the back! or just go masturbate for a while. you earned it! go team go!!
