the electrotapestapler spoke to me again today.
he told me stories of his youth.
one fine cotton-candy day, electrotapestapler awoke with a feeling of anticipation.
"today is the day i meet my beloved hubgloo at the destiny rock," he said to no one in particular.
so out he went. he waded through bog and marsh, through scratchy mean twigs and branches. finally he arrived at the destiny rock, huffing and puffing, scraped up and agitated.
"oh my darling! i thought you would never arrive!" cried hubgloo, as she embraced him.
as hubgloo fell against electrotapestapler pushing him onto the destiny rock, a slight shudder fell through the earth.
"touch me not vile woman!" screeched electrotapestapler.
and he shoved her away.
"what is wrong my darling-love? what have i done to make you contemptuous with me?" she wurbled.
electrotapestapler grabbed hubgloo and dashed her against the destiny rock until it was no longer a grey rock, but rather a sort of brownish red instead.
"thank you," chimed the gentle voice of the destiny rock inside electrotapestapler's head. "i do so love being red rather than grey. it's such a dull color."
i asked the electrotapestapler why he had told me this most horrendous story.
"because," said he, "we should all know whyfore we are as we are."
