--!!!--------SNOW---------!!!----

[cheesy warning]

I love the white powdery stuff. It floats down flower-like crowning my modern blue plastic jacket
reminding me that I'm as unique as it is.

That you never really know how deep things can get before you step in is exhilarating since its soft and caring with intentions pure as snow.

Moving,
it travels with you lovingly finding any convienent niche -...

hiya. of course insight into the region is invaluable (check out recently-released Doug Little's "American Orientalism") for long term peace planning, but immediate physical threats need to be addressed with different tools.

the towers were designed to handle a 707 impact (biggest plane of the day). you CAN design a Tower-Class building to withstand 767 or 747 impacts but it'd be prohibitively expensive. Smaller buildings can of course more easily be made withstand heavy attacks (e.g. Pentagon) but Towers are too big to make truly "terrorist proof".

Mmm...dirty floor-boards.

Back from NY. I luv luvluv Manhatten and food and new/old
places and old/new friends and the large large large space that is the
world.

Funny tho' how it can make you miss/appreciate your friends and
the people who are part of your life for better or worse. Sometimes
the best alone times are the ones where you are looking at some
silly do-dad...

Out this coast, there's no point in waiting for warm weather (although it is actually pretty warm right now) to go diving. The water is in the low 50 degree range all year round. Does the water temp vary a lot out there or is it just too freaky to get in the water when the air temp is so damn cold?
girlcatx:
word. i definitely relate to the travel feelings.
and yeah, happy chinese new year to you too. nice picture. i never tire of loving the look of chinese shop signs.

The way you talk all smart is very wink

I was a psych major at the U of M and when i was taking my major classes I was in honors so had to take mostly grad level clases. I think your field is fascinating cognitive neuroscience phew.

My favortie class was on the psychobiology of vision lots of animal studies to read about though made me sad frown Poor cats with their brains opened upwhile htey were still alive! The walleye studies I didnt feel so bad about for some reason. Maybe because being from Minnesota I 've eaten too many to feel bad for them.

My advisor also taught the psychology of language and was a cognitive psych researcher. He was great, learned alot about early computer modeling theories. This was years ago and they were fairly unsophisticated.

I just read that Gary kasparov beat deep junior in chess! woot chalk one up to humans! he has 5 more games to go. Phew I am such a nerd.

Sometimes people surprise you I guess. Another
grad student came back from vacation and gave
me a present of earrings from his part of India.
Totally out of the blue - wow nice.

Yeah. Busy here too. Been putting in 15 hr days again. First time runs of experiments are wrought with little demons running amock, just tackling one at a time but making good progress and learning tons. The scary thing is I'm starting to ENJOY the insanity. Ah well. Yay for random gifts, btw. Those can be a wicked pissa.

I have decided to call them Tick and Tock. I am not sure which is who yet. My parenting is such hard work!

Off to dance class soon and then much rushing to
get a programming assignment done before midnight. - Why have a programming assignment
due at midnight !? robot I'm...

somebody said it's supposed to be colder tomorrow!!! i may diiiie.
don't feed them too much, and be sure to talk to them a lot. my folks fish used to commit fishy suicide by jumping out of the tank. it was horrible. made worse by the fact that the fish tank was in the middle of their psychotherapy office.
