Wow... 2nd lab-mate to defend in 2 months.... So its yet another long-haul evening for me -- the "let's get serious -- for once" on teh party drinking front. I could vomit already.

I am such a weirdo I suppose... I seem really off the wall outgoing to many people now but I really just want to go home and be reading while doing laundry right now. Ugh. maybe its just the mood which will be lifted hopefully by an impending nap -- attitude shift not unlikely since I have been changing directions plans and moods at the drop of a hat recently.

Go with whatever may be the toss of hat. Enjoy it, no? Have a great time out. I am trying so hard to get back up north, but just signed a lease here which will keep me here for 12 months at least. I absolutely couldn't live with the parents any longer. On another note, I am doing scientific recruiting, which is fun. Meeting scientists out of work and trying to get them jobs. At least if my career is thwarted I can help others continue theirs. It's not academic recruiting, mostly just finding lab techs and stuff. But not completely devoid of interestingness.
