What a wonderfully strange and oddly optimistic weekend I've had...After meeting my girl downtown (she just had gotten in from the airport) We get back to my house and I pick up the mail, and there in my hand is a letter from the Post Office HR Dept. It seems that after five or so years of waiting I have finally come up for an interview for employment. Wow. A career opportunity...how strange, and oddly optimistic, maybe. The appointment is on Nov. 1st. And I have so many questions for the person interviewing me.

I also had a wonderful time with my love. She came into Portland for the weekend, and we got to spend a lot of time together. It was wonderful, for a lot of reasons. She hates it where she's living, and the situation she's in. And how much she misses all the her friends, and me. The job really isn't as good as she had hoped it would be...We'll see. I want her to do it for herself, and not worry about me. It's harder that way but it's better.

The Burningman decompression was an excellent experience. I acheived a state of drunkeness that I have never previously obtained before. I drank a fifth of yeager almost completely to myself over the course of the evening. I didn't poke any smot but it was excellent none the less. Good music and completely original forward thinking people. NICE!!
