spooky gave an explination. there is a thread somewhere in "the site" about it.

and as far as i'm concerned, it isn't really anyone's business but the sg's who are leaving and the staff. that's it.

and you're right, scooter, this isn't a cooperative. but i firmly believe that spooky, o, and missy have the best interests of teh site in mind. why wouldn't they?

What movie should I rent tonight?

Likes: cheesy teen movies from the 80's to now, cheesy GLBT romantic movies, serious political stuff, documentaries.

Dislikes: violence, stupid comedy, emotional manipulation.

I second the recommendation of Scotland,PA.
totovader:
MEMENTO- although it has nothing to do with your taste.

Also, I could say that High Fidelity is a good movie- if you're in a good cusak mood.

So should I buy all my textbooks from the bookstore and charge them to finanical aid (but spend $100 more) or get them from half.com, save $100, and spend all the money that I have until financial aid comes? confused

What do you think?

scooter11:
Hmm, I think I would do the latter unless you're super broke. (And that goes double if the bookstore is owned by Barnes & Noble.) Although I admit that I might not do that.
Either that, or find an unethical grad student who comes up with flimsy pretexts to get desk copies. smile Something I imagine to be possible only hypothetically, of course.(Damn, where are those forms?)
politrix:
I guess the honor comes from recommending a book instead of relaying a parallel issue from an episode of Buffy or 7TH Heaven. I like the titles of those books.. especially Identity Matters.

I'm not sure which Con Law it is... there are three of them and this is the one I haven't taken yet. I stopped committing the PGY4578-type nomenclatures and course titles about two or three years ago. I figured there's only so much room up top, and I shouldn't waste it with such stuff.

(althogh I do vaguely remember something about ConLaw: Rights and Liberty =)

What's your favorite song right now?

tic_tac_toe:
Yes, "Riff Raff" is quite good...it's amusing, the British working-class accents are so thick throughout, it's actually subtitled...it's typical Loach fare, realistic, ensembled characers, massively political. Have you ever seen "Hidden Agenda?" It's interesting...Loach went to law school and always regretted not practising...he has said that it would have been less "self-indulgent" than making movies, and he would have ultimately been able to help people more directly...what do you think of that? I can see his point, but I think that cinema would be missing something overall without a piece of Loach's talent in the fabric...

My favorite song right now is "Remember Me" by Elak, a band (?) I've never heard of before, but it's on a "Hi Fidelity Lounge" compilation that a friend burned for me. I think it's quite pretty...as are you...biggrin

I'm bummed. I really wanted the Packers to win.

Green Bay is the coolest team in the NFL because they're a community-owned non-profit organization, as opposed to being owned by corrupt old men willing to move the team at the drop of a dollar...like the one where I live. tongue

(In other news, I got myself a profile pic.)

I've been arrested a whole lot of times for various political things, and once for shoplifting....but that was a long time ago.
