Good weekend... Chalk up yet another race victory for my man Valentino Rossi in MotoGP!
Moto GP
I am stoked bigtime! I have tickets to the MotoGP race in California the second week in July. I will be flying into LA and then I rented a VFR 800 and I am going to ride up PCH all the way to Monterey and the track at Laguna Seca. First time MotoGP has been in the US for 10 years, so it should be one hell of a race. I hope to have some pics to post when I get back from the race!
Just got done doing an AngelFlight where I flew down to Houston and picked up a little girl and her mom to take them to Dallas for treatment at Scottish Rite Hospital. I love and hate those trips at the same time. They are some of the coolest kids I have ever met, and most of the time their outlook on life is so bright and upbeat. This balances out with the fact that in this case, the girl is 8 years old and has a brain tumor. She has been through repeated chemo sessions, and her mother said that due to the location the tumor is inoperable. Chances are this little girl isn't gonna make it to her 10th birthday, and that's the real bummer part of the whole deal. It's amazing that these children are so very strong and bright considering their illness and the fact that most of them know very well that they have precious little time to them.
I encourage anyone who can to give anything they can (even if it's a buck.. . it all adds up) to the National Children's Cancer Society or a local charity that does research work. These kids deserve to live a full life and not have it cut out from under them by an illness that so savagely attacks the body as well as the spirit. The only thing worse than the death of a child is to see that child's spirit crushed before they go.
Ok off my soapbox... I just had to get that out.
