weedeater, melvins, & down show was pretty good. at least it was adequately loud. perhaps i'm getting too old to tolerate the testosterone macho bull-shit mosh pit antics that are part of a show like that anymore. to each his own, but fuck, it baffles me why these schmoe's pay $30 to act like idiots that own the place, but at least you don't see them at underground/small shows where they don't have the collective homo-erotic agressive outlet of hitting each other and posturing on such a scale... the kids that stand on the edge, waiting to get in a cheap shot, and are not paying one bit of attention to the band or music.... especially when they have no rhythm, pains me to see, or at least have them decide to stand right in front of me...
the fucking strobes/hot whites that lessened the vision made it all the worse; i just envisioned mr meathead's skull slamming into my face simply because the strobes made it so hard to see/focus...
i liked that weedeater played the skynard song and had a new cd with them.
