Yay!!! i got a job, albeit not the ideal situation, at least i wont be eating my socks over the next few months. theres's nothing like hitting the ground running, getting hired at 1pm the day before the first day. i'm pretty thankful for the opportunity, now i just gotta figure out what exactly i'm supposed to be doing and find a way to "get ahead" with planning so that i'm not coming up with lessons the night/morning before. the students and class sizes all seem very suited for my comfort level, and the maturity level is big step up in a positive direction. and, after three days i got a new macbook to work with too.

on my way home from a hectic first day, the MAX train i was riding home hit and TIPPED OVER a big Freightliner truck in Old Town, right before the stop under the Burnside bridge. pretty wild. i'm surprised the rig didn't get pushed into the Voodoo Lounge. the driver looked ok as he climbed out, but seeing the underside of a huge vehicle like that staring back at you as you get off the train to walk the rest of the way is a bit surreal.

as a bonus i got an invite to hang with a two teachers i worked with last year on Thursday. watched the beavers get decimated over a beer and bar food. it was nice to catch up a little and celebrate the new job with someone besides my sister.

today is a day off, sunday i'll have to go sort through a dozen or so boxes in the office and figure out what i'm supposed to be doing....
