so i've had the interweb for about 20-ish days now after a nearly 2+ year stretch without.... I have done well staying away from the nakedness (with the exception of this site).... but what have i done with it.... spent time applying for a few jobs, looking up some video game walk-throughs (devil may cry and silent hill 2).... and discovering the addictive, wonderfully exciting/frustrating nature of Youtube.....
that whole, "yeah this is cool, i'll click on this other video" and get related stuff vs the "oh hell, why would this be at all linked to the awesomeness i was just watching?"....
i think i started with watching an awesome young lady in a series of videos doing liquid dancing to house-y / techno tracks, (having to avoid all the wanky dumb folks lip-syncing and dancing in their underwear), then on to a bunch of DMC/turntablist stuff (avoiding all the hip hop DJ-(insert name) videos), then a bunch of Neurosis stuff, then a bunch of High On Fire, Rabbit In the Moon,.... just recently some dude rocking an MPC, which led to DJ Shadow& Cut Chemist's "Punching Buttons" to all the shadow and cut clips...... stuff is exhausting, wading through all the junk for the jems.... takes soooo damn long, but so nice when neat-o stuff comes up.
went to see a noise show (i think it's a monthly at the Fez called "wtf?"), and was pretty impressed, especially with this dude who uses effects, a sampler, and a cello.... awesome. i skipped Ludicra on thursday to see them sunday at Ground Kontrol (i'd rather play games between sets than twiddle me thumbs)..... will save Simpsons movie for next week....
