The Third Act


The most memorable moments occur
in the final third, where the background
gives way to rising action and everything

quickens pace. In a play
its the third act; a movie, the third reel.
When we, the watchers, feel

the adrenaline rush of the big chase,
hooked in for the ride to climax
two lovers tangled in embrace.

Isnt life better there?
Forget the set-up and long
drawn-out introduction. Lets skip

to the tango. Lets skip to nights
when we stutter each others name.
Oh god, Oh yes.

Lets skip to the parts we will
not forget. Lets play our role
in the story. Let us love and fuck

before its time for the curtain to close.
