Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
It's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

That has nothing to do with the entry. It's just there because I like it. It reminds me of cold winter nights, of seeing your breath in the air, of Christmas, of the unbearable lightness of being, and of how childhood is so far gone, yet so hard to forget.

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty
in the moonlight
overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne,
she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

It makes me think of the flag falling to the ground in a quiet part of the city. Slowly turning, over and over, before clanging -- in silence- -- against pavement. It's the death of freedom, maybe? I'm simply writing what the music makes me think of. It's changing so damned quickly.

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

I've got this damned thing out of order, yes. Above me is verse one, the top is verse five, the second verse is thankfully the second verse in the actual song. I'm typing this instead of a recap of my weekend because it was so strange and stressful that I'm sure I'd much more likely scream and toss my laptop out my window if I were to actually cover the events again. But I'll hint at it: faucets, cup holders, rainy Saturdays, and annoying asshole manager Sundays.

I hope that got the point across clearly. I refuse to go any deeper.

I'll leave you with this:

Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe

*hums along to "Nothing's gonna change my world..."*

Should it be considered feminine that when I was like 15, I could sew like a motherfucker?

Remeber the Scoreboard?
