So my car's ignition is fucked. Who knows how much it'll cost... all I know is that it took my keys, and won't let go of them again.
To further explain: this morning, I start my car to remove snow/warm up the inside. I go inside to finish getting ready -- and when I come back out, my car's engine has mysteriously died. At first, I thought it was gas. So I grabbed a gas can from the garage and poured a good half of in -- enough to kick my car into life.
No go.
So I get a ride to work. And when I get back home, we try to jumpstart the car.
It becomes not the battery, either. Nor the alternator.
So I required the car to be towed -- thanks to my mom's AAA, I didn't have to pay for it, and thanks to my CONSTANT visits to the local garage, I probably won't have a gigantic jab in the eye in terms of price.
I've put what's got to be $6000 into that car. In repairs only. I bought it for $4000, so that's $10,000 on a car that STILL never works to the full potential it could go.
I figure I may want to just sell it when I move. City life = less point to driving, unless you want to breathe in carbon monoxide from someone else's exhaust pipe. The only problem would be Thanksgiving/Christmas stuff like getting around, but I figure taking two or three rides on the Downeaster a year won't kill me.
I'd probably be in and out of the house within a couple days, anyway.
But until then...
My car better not give me any more shit.
